Hi Maruti;
Good for you, for seeking help early in the process!
Has anybody evaluated your workstation ergonomics? If you only have pain while
working, perhaps the workstation set up is injurious, or your posture is askew.
Do you take frequent breaks, every 30 minutes to stretch, every 2 hours to get
up
and walk around? Have a look at the websites listed on the Sorehand FAQ (URL in
the bottom banner on every post) and compare your workstation set-up with their
recommendations -- especially The RSI Page.

Nix on the cortisone, is what I say. Fix the ergonomics and get yourself some
stretching & exercising.
cheers, Penney

Dear Maruti: I second Penney's praise and advise. As for cortisone, it
didn't work for me and, personally, I don't think it's worth the risks (ie:
lowered immunity, long-term effects of multiple injections). I would get
"RSI: A computer user's guide" by Quilter and Pascarelli and "The Repetitive
Strain Sourcebook" by Sandra Peddie. If I had found these earlier and
understood the dynamics of RSI, I believe it would have gone a long way
toward limiting the damage I eventually sustained. Best of luck to you!
Namaste, Susanne
